On-The-Job Training (OJT)
You Hire - You Train - We Pay!
On-the-job training is a program of the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) that makes funds available to help businesses hire and train screened applicants. OJT directly reimburses employers up to 50 percent of a trainee’s gross wages for the duration of the training period. It is an “earn as you learn” training program that’s planned, organized and conducted by you at your workplace.
Job Seekers Eligible for OJT Include:
- Applicants who are pre-qualified by a Ventura County American Job Center
- Applicants an employer submits for eligibility screening
